Alice, our Mum, was born on 3rd July 1925 and grew up in Liverpool with her parents, Maggie and John Forshaw, her sisters Elsie and Ann and her younger brother John. It was in this environment that she learned the value of family life and all that goes with it.
Alice was one of the most generous, loving people you could ever hope to meet. She had time for everyone and without hesitation would offer help to those in need.
Undoubtedly these traits were what attracted a young Thomas Street to her. They married in 1950 and had two sons, Alan and Peter. Over the years wives, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren were added to her brood. All of them were welcomed and loved unconditionally and they, in turn, took her into their hearts.
Alice was never short of love to give, she was completely selfless and willingly welcomed both her Mother and Mother-in-law into the family home when they could no longer live alone.
Alice worked hard for everyone, she dedicated herself not just to her family but also to the church where she was a founder member of the congregation at St. Martin’s in Kirkby and remained involved until a few years ago. She made the teas, cleaned the church and loved singing in the choir. She visited the lonely and sick, cheering them up with a chat and raised money for MacMillan Cancer charity.
Over the last few years, Alzheimer’s has gradually taken away the mum that we knew. Please donate to assist others having to cope with this journey.
We remember Alice/Auntie Alice as a warm, fun-loving, generous person and have fond memories of spending many a Christmas and New Year in her company. With love to all the family
We will always remember Aunty Al as a gentle lady who was fun to be with and always had a smile on her face.
